I’ve been porn free sober for over a year now (at the time of this update), and discovered this book as a suggested additional resource when downloading the NoMo app for free on the App Store (a sobriety day counter/goal tracker app)...and I just finished this book...in one day of reading. I couldn’t put it down, I must have been so thirsty for the grace, love, and information that is so beautifully put together in this book.I had no idea that a topic such as lust and porn struggle could be discussed with so much love and care for the reader. I now know in my heart (thanks to this amazing book, which has thoughtfully placed scripture references, stories, and examples throughout) that God’s Love is bigger than my shame; is unchanging, constant, and most importantly, just waiting for me to accept it...no matter where I’m coming from or what lies I have believed from the enemy about myself, my porn habit, or even my masturbation habits.I pray that this book will set you on a journey just as it has me...no matter where you are coming from. Do not be afraid of this book: a much needed dose of God’s Grace awaits you. This book is wonderful if you been in the snares of a porn cycle, or if you are like me and have already been through a relapse but after several months of sobriety and initial healing still don’t feel free from the snares of it all; like there is more to be understood and a deeper Love to be found. No doubt, it’s going to be a lifelong battle...but I know who won the ultimate battle and with Him I can and will find new life.It’s amazing to me that Jesus could heal hearts and restore souls from porn. It just goes to show how shamed I was and the lies I believed about myself and about God toward me. I have a lot of work to do still, but I’m looking forward to the day that Christ and His Light are shining so bright within me that the lies and triggers that currently still ensnare me to a degree are squelched so to pave the way for more intimacy with Him and others.God Bless you all. I read this book out of curiosity and what I loved most was the authors care and consistency he makes you view pornography in a different light and bring you into full awareness of what is really going on from the start of pornography to the end of its hold upon someone's life. The book is written for men however anyone looking be free, stay away from pornography or knows someone deal with pornography this book is also for you. The author doesn't make excuses he shows the bad and the horrible the guilt and shame and he directs the read to God it may seem as though the book is out of order or perhaps jumps around the more the more you read the more the lightbulb will go off. The book does include scriptures as well and pages at the end to see his references. I think this book even as a general read is essential it unlocks many truths and will open eyes.

After 37ish years of porn addiciton, and secretly hiding it from my wife for 32-1/2 years, my secret became known, and my shame was absolutely soul crushing. The origin of porn's effect on our life together were now obvious.I picked up the book as part of a multi pronged approach to break free. Not wanting to miss something that would work, I joined a men's recovery group at church, put accountability software on devices, asked a friend to act as a accountability partner, watched literally hundreds of online videos from the likes of Brad Hambrick and Affair Recovery, started therapy, had long "discussions" with my wife, read this book and picked up my Bible for the first time in a long time. There is no single magic pill. What worked was the type of approach the author presents, and he does so in a relatable, understandable way. To live a productive and healthy life as a husband, as a man, as a Christian involves daily choices, desires to do so, and the will and maturity to see it through. Read the whole book, because that makes the last two chapters all the more valuable.Sincere thanks.
